Dane Kaneshiro and his Mom run Kinjo Arts.
They are some fantastic humans that have a few shops around town and sell at the boardwalk, Balboa when that wasn’t illegal and all sorts of farmers’ markets and other events.
Check out their work at kinjoarts.com and kinjo_arts@instagram
All their boards are spray painted by hand and therefore completely unique, custom and eye-grabbing.
They are simple boards without any contouring, but the art is one of a kind and usually feature various traditional Polynesian patterns with some contemporary styling.
They have been cranking these out for tourists and locals alike.
If you get a chance to ride one of his I-shit-you-not 5ft long boards on sidewinders, give it a go.
They feel like piloting an aircraft carrier, but with the sidewinder trucks they are still weirdly agile.
The Kinjo fam are also big on land paddles!
They go well with the super longest of long boards for chill cruising even though Dane uses it like a pole vault for power sides…
Hope to see y’all there!
